Description

They reduce the costs of cleaning, maintenance and labor because once sealed, dirt, stains and discolorations are a thing of the past. Paving Sealers are cheap and straightforward at the low end of the budget and stone specific at the high end. If you are serious about sealing your Porcelain stone, then you’ll want to use the best porcelain sealer on the market, or at least the best sealer you can afford. Our Expertise

This penetrating sealer works both on unsanded and sanded grout and improves the durability of the grout while maintaining its natural appearance. Follow the steps below for correct use of HG tile protector (HG product 14). 1 litre is sufficient for approximately 40 m2 per layer. For regular cleaning with a floor cloth we recommend HG tile cleaner shine restorer (HG product 17). The formula is a non-acidic mix and has no harmful chemicals; it can penetrate the grout without changing the natural appearance of soft stone and is safe to use with most materials. If using darker grouts, it’s best to apply two coats before grouting, with a further coat afterwards During manufacturing, porcelain and other polished surfaces can develop tiny pores that upon up. These almost microscopic gaps in the surface can allow stains and dirt to settle, spoil and damage the look of your stone. By impregnating your tile with sealer, you are effectively closing up these pores – reducing the likelihood of stains getting through and causing you more work in the long run. 4) Long-Lasting Protection

Water-based sealants are cheap, whereas porcelain is anything but. We’ve included a water-based sealer in the list above, but we wouldn’t be in a rush to use water-based products when sealing these floor tiles. We would rather not seal at all or wait until we can afford a high-quality porcelain paving sealer designed to work with this stone and not use a one-size-fits-all solution. 2) Don’t Seal Porcelain If Rain is Expected If you have dark coloured tiles, it’s advised you test a small portion of grout before using it on a large area. Overspray on highly polished porcelain or stone and highly glazed surfaces may in some cases leave a slight residue, in which case wipe up any excess within 5 minutes. Stubborn residues left on the surface can be removed with the application of more LTP Grout & Tile Protector which should then be buffed off immediately. To seal or not to seal? It’s a question we’re often asked, by do-it-yourselfers and experienced professionals alike. There’s a lot of conflicting advice out there over protecting your tiles, so in this article we’ll put the record straight. Read through and you’ll know which tiles need sealing and how to do it. Why do tiles need sealing?

Sorry

On new floors the glue/cement and grouting must be completely hardened and dry. The drying time is usually 4-6 weeks. Use on all types of floor tiles (including unglazed quarry tiles and victorian tiles), flagstones and slate. In many instances, we have come across grout sealers that leave stains behind after their application which can be very unsightly and disturbing for us. The best solution to such cringe-worthy instances is the magic product from Mapei. Universal Grout Rescue Colour & Seal Limestone Ceramic and porcelain tile sealers should protect the initial look of your stone or porous tiles and protect them against the elements for up to ten years. We’d argue that most natural stone tiles and otherwise require sealing, and if you really want to make the most of them, shop for tile sealers and grout sealers that builders and pavers trust.

We will now present a list of trusted grout sealers currently on the market, starting with those that are best for the shower. Application: Shake bottle before use. Before grouting apply LTP Porcelain Tile Protector evenly to the surface using a broad paint brush, foam roller or light pressure sprayer. Allow to dry for 30 minutes. Apply a second coat after 30 minutes then leave to cure for a minimum of 1 hour before grouting or pointing. Once pointing is dry and all residues have been removed a further coat of LTP Porcelain Tile Protector can be applied covering the joints as well. If you're looking to invest in a grout sealer with colour, brands like Mapei and Universal Grout offer some of the best options in the market today. Mapei Grout RefreshWhat’s more, a well-formulated grout sealer often features chemicals that keep the sand in your grout dry and safe, since it is excellent as acting as a filler. Exceptional Protection: The wafer-thin yet incredibly durable coating acts as a shield, preventing penetration of dirt, stains, and wear. Every floor is different, thanks to the choice of materials. But finding the best grout sealer for your floors ensures that no matter the material, your floor stays in good shape visibly and internally. Please note that epoxy grouts are extremely durable and don’t require sealing. When does sealer need to be re-applied? What’s more, the Grout refresh comes in many colours and seals that are easy to use and clean as and when needed. When choosing a colour from their catalogue, it is best to choose physically, since the colours online may differ from the real thing.
