Mid August Favourites

If you’ve been following my blog for a little while you’ll know that I haven’t really done a ‘favourites’ post before, I’ve written various different product reviews, Lush being the primary brand in most of them. Yet I’ve still not actually done a post and talked about the different products I use and why I love them. So here is my first ‘favourites’ post, posted at a very untraditional time, the middle of the month.

Mask of Magnaminty
Yes your eyes aren’t deceiving you, I’m starting off this post with yet another Lush product, and whilst I haven’t been using this product for very long, it’s already jumped to the top of the list of my favourite skincare products.
I don’t exactly have the worlds greatest skin, in fact I’m very very far from it, but since discovering this product on my latest trip to Lush and reading and hearing all the pro’s of it I had to try it out, I was not disappointed to say the least. The Mask of Magnaminty is a thick, peppermint face-mask (I’ll list all the ingredients at the bottom of this section) which gets to work as soon as it touches your face. I’ve tried other face-masks from Lush in the past, specifically Cupcake and Catastrophe Cosmetic, but this face-mask is much different from those two.
The Mask of Magnaminty provides a very cooling, refreshing sensation when it’s instantly put on your face. I have quite sensitive skin on my face and I am used to getting very dry, irritated skin when trying out new products, but that was not the case with this one. The Mask of Magnaminty was very relaxing on my face  the first time I used it, and every other time also, and after taking it off around ten minutes after applying it to my face always leaves me with super soft moisturised skin.
This face-mask is great for acne sufferers like myself as it works on combating spots and breakouts and restoring any marks on your skin to their original state! This is definitely a product I would recommend to anyone who suffers with any kind of acne, or just if you fancy giving your face a treat and a great glow.
Product Description: A multi-purpose mask with a mixture of gentle yet effective ingredients to clean, calm and clear the skin. Easily smoothed over the skin, this mask is made with peppermint oil to stimulate, marigold oil and chlorophyllin to treat the skin; evening primrose seeds and aduki beans to gently exfoliate as you remove it. You can use this mask anywhere.
Ingredients: Bentonite Gel, Kaolin, Honey, Talc, Organic Ground Aduki Beans, Glycerine, Evening Primrose, Seeds, Peppermint Oil, African Marigold Oil, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute, Limonene, Perfume, Chlorophyllin, Methylparaben
Micellar Cleansing Water
Another skin care product I absolutely adore is this Micellar Cleansing Water from Garnier.
I tend to use this product at night times more than any other times in the day, when I’m feeling that extra bit lazy after a long day and don’t want to move from my bed to wash my face.
Another time I actually do use this is on my breaks in work if it’s been a busy day and I need a little refresh, or if I’m just feeling a bit sweaty and bothered.
This is definitley another product I would recommend trying out if you’re looking for a nice way to refresh your skin throughout the day, wash your face at night, and even remove makeup (which is what I think it was created for in the first place)
Product Description: A super efficient and gentle way to cleanse, remove makeup, soothe the feel of skin and hydrate in just one step – it’s not magic, it’s Garnier Micellar!
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water contains micelles which act like magnets, gently lifting away makeup and impurities from the skin, without the need to rub or rinse. The result?
Beautifully cleansed and refreshed feeling skin in an instant. The formula is suitable for the face, eye area and lips and has no perfume
Ingredients: Aqua/Water, Hexylene, Glycol, Glycerine, Disodium, Cocoamphodiacetate, Disodoium-edta, Poloxmamer 184, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide
Ari By Ariana Grande

Now this is a product which I have been using pretty much constantly since the release date, partly because I am a self confessed Ariana Grande addict, and partly because the smell of this perfume is out of this world. Honestly, I can’t compare it to anything else.

This perfume has such a sweet smell that I honestly just cannot get enough of! I’ve gone through three bottles I think since it came out and whilst I’ll admit it I haven’t exactly been using it as frequently recently it still remains my favourite scent in existence.
Product Description: The luscious new fragrance opens with sparkling fruits and an ultra-feminine floralcy, passionately spun with musks, woods, and an addictive hint of marshmallow.

Coal Face Facial Cleanser

Another Lush product I have recently picked up but also recently fallen in love with is this ‘Coal Face Facial Cleanser’, I’ll admit at first I was a little bit reluctant to try it, moving away from Herbalism was a tough choice to make but I felt like it had stopped having the same effect on my skin that it used to and that it was time for a change.
After a brief little discussion in the store with one of the staff members they recommended that I should use Coal Face as it was exactly what I needed for my skin type to assist with my skin.
I have used it only a few times so far but I’m yet to be disappointed as it does seem to do the job fairly well. Once rubbed onto wet hands, Coal Face begins to form a lather on your hands which can be transferred over onto your face, whilst it does have a bit of an unusual smell it’s something I recommend sticking with as it does help to calm down any angry spots and breakouts you’re currently facing and makes your skin unbelievably soft. As Coal Face isn’t too harsh on your skin it could also be used multiple times a day without irritating your face.

Product Description: A gentle soap made with antiseptic rosewood, sandalwood, and absorbent charcoal that can be used on the face and body. Sandalwood oil gives this soap a distinctive earthy fragrance. Charcoal is known for its absorbency, while liquorice root softens the skin and rosewood oil has antiseptic properties. It’s gentle enough for your face, but you can use it all over your body. Simply use as a soap and wash the day off.
