The basic story of Truss is by now well established: the geeky, outspoken daughter of a couple of leftish Cambridge graduates, who fell for the contrariness of libertarianism at Oxford, became a Tory and rose rapidly up the party ranks to become prime minister. It’s the familiar narrative that is retold here, albeit with some wit, insight and a well-informed ear for the telling detail. Out of the Blue was an adorable coming-of-age story involving teenage love and struggling to find where you fit in the world. Combined with humourous characters, brilliant lgbtq+ rep and merfolk (!!), this turned into the perfect little comfort read for me. While there were certain scenes that were a littleee over the top, it is a romcom involving 16 year olds, so what else can be expected? Super cute. The female best friend was once again, insufferable. This was an issue I had in Jay's Gay Agenda too, and sadly the author repeated it here. I would like to thank the publishers Pan Macmillan and the team at MyKindaBook for sending me a physical ARC in exchange for an honest review. This standalone novel was definitely one that really appealed to me but being nervous to read, I don't have the most positive of experiences reading angel books or mainly books that feature angels. But this one was different, it was good but had a few areas which I wasn't particularly keen on. The Cutting Room is a smart and modern space perfect for meetings, auditions, workshops and classes. This is about Jaya, a Cool Teen whose life is looking a bit tragic at the moment because her mom is #RecentlyDead and now she’s being trotted off by her dad, who is fully freaking. Also her younger sister is there. Overall this was fun, and I thought worth the read! I usually have a very hard time reading books due to my ADHD and much prefer audiobooks, so it's a pretty high honor that I was able to finish this in just two days! (That and the fact that this book is pretty short which is definitely a strong plus in my book!) The romance between Jaya and Allie was so incredibly sweet. I wish there had been more chemistry between the two of them, but there was no instalove and it was cute, so I don’t even really care that much?? Honestly my standards are so much lower for f/f romances than they are for m/f, like, tbh,,, as long as it’s not problematic there’s about a 90% chance that I would die for the ship. And I would D I E for this ship. They’re so cute. I love them. Finally, we get to the point in the story where Kellie is no longer in the story. Which makes me happy, and we are able to see the budding relationship to grow. Fran has fears that affect her moving forward with Nik, and I can understand with her past divorce. However, she was also letting Kellie's feelings influence her decision too. Not cool. The authors rushed the publication soon after her sudden fall from grace, to attract people like me, who looked to find an answer to a baffling question – how her premiership became possible? This is definitely a feel good book, though there are some mentions of some sad topics, this book is filled with so much joy!

Tiffany & Co. announced the debut of Blue Book 2023: Out of the Blue, the latest expression of Tiffany’s esteemed high jewelry collection. As the first Blue Book collection designed by Nathalie Verdeille, Tiffany & Co. Chief Artistic Officer of Jewelry and High Jewelry, the extraordinary designs celebrate Jean Schlumberger and his fascination with the sea’s fantastical creatures. With geometric and stylized aesthetics, each masterpiece draws inspiration from the legendary designer’s imagination and design philosophy—perpetuating and reinventing Schlumberger’s enigmatic symbols of the sea. The Music Room is fully sound insulated, well ventilated and equipped with broadband internet. Perfect for small meetings, workshops, music rehearsals and group music lessons. More → Very low on insight, and it's clear how hastily this was written, and then rewritten. Traces of the redemption narrative the authors hoped to tell - of Truss vindicated - are visible throughout. The most interesting elements are about...

Like, I adored both Crest/Ross and Sean as characters, but their motivations and understanding around their relationship were very hard to follow in moments. One moment they were friends with benefits, the next they were fully in love, then very torn up over whether or not they were manipulating each other, then broken up, then in love, then maybe broken up again? Phew. But nonetheless, I was really invested the entire book in their relationship, and I really enjoyed all the classic fake dating notes. There were also a lot of elements about it that read true to teen relationships and how wildly messy they can be. It was also super sex-positive and there seemed to be roughly zero straight characters, which was great. a b c d e Ivers, Charlotte (13 November 2022). " Out of the Blue by Harry Cole and James Heale: The Implosion of Liz Truss". The Times. London . Retrieved 16 December 2022. The reason Father Dearest is totally buggin is that angels are falling out of the sky. Understandably everyone is buggin about this, but Dad is especially because he’s like “I wanna catch one of these bad boys, who, yes, are falling unpredictably but also I bet I can figure it out using the power of Math if I try.” Also he probably would have said “Maths” because England. Ha ha. And now here we are. Writing a review of a book I even felt meh on six months ago, when it was fresh in my mind. Which it now definitively is not, even a little bit at all.

Nik and Fran never have sex in this book or even come close. Kissing is as far as it goes and every time Fran puts on the brakes Nik understands because he's perfect and wonderful. In fact, he actually praises her in his mind for being different from the rest of the women he's dated. That the fact that she was "truly modest" only made her even more perfect and wonderful to him. While on this camping trip, Nik confides that he also cannot have children because of a mountaineering accident he had as a kid. So isn't it just perfect and wonderful that these two people with the same issue have found each other? You'd think so but no, Fran is convinced that if she sleeps with Nik she'll just be another notch in his bedpost and she'll be left heartbroken. So she metaphorically runs away from him. It's okay though, because he's so perfect and wonderful he understands that it was her terribly, terribly hurtful past that's making her cautious and he respects her all the more for it.With her manic eagerness, cheap publicity stunts, fixed stare looking somewhere over the horizon, and GCSE level political fixed ideas, she could be a parody of Reese Witherspoon’s character from the movie Election. Unfortunately, she is a real politician, who, in her short premiership, succeeded in damaging the economy and the status of the country. The romance was also so sweet. It gave me What If It’s Us vibes (which isn’t usually a compliment because I kinda disliked What If It’s Us, but in this case it’s not so bad) but Out of the Blue was better (IMHO). I don’t really want to spoil, but basically I highly recommend this to people who enjoyed What If It’s Us. Also, practices *decrease* the closer you get to a big meet -- like "states" -- not increase. Sean has practice twice a day 2 weeks before his big meet? Nope. That's a shave-and-taper event -- your practices decrease so your energy can increase and you can rest your muscles so you're not exhausted and they don't crap out on you.

Do know that you have to prepare for cheating if you decide to read this book. I am a strong advocate against the cheating trope, and while this book definitely didn’t contain that, it did have some cheating sections that frustrated and irritated me. However, I felt the author wrote this into the book quite well, so while I disliked it, I didn’t hate it.But my body, this one, the one I have on land, also craves one other thing. One other person. I need Sean. I need to kiss him again. I need to share myself with him one more time before I go. Sophie Cameron's debut really is something special! I'm calling Carnegie and Waterstones Book Prize nominations for next year! It's the sort of story that's just effortlessly beautiful and sweeps you up with the easy-to-follow emotional journeys. The secondary characters were absolutely stellar, in fact, all of the characters were complex and intriguing, and I loved what Cameron did with the dad towards he end of the book. At the moment it’s difficult due to the different chemical composition of their teeth, but scientists think they may be able to calculate their ages by the end of this year…”
