Why You Should Take Some Time Off

3 THINGS YOU CAN DO

WHEN YOU NEED A BIT OF R&R

Why you should take time off, and things to do when on a break

______

As someone who spends almost all of my time occupied with work or education, I don’t get very much time to fully switch off and relax, and whilst I’m very happy with my life as it is, it’s always good to have some time to step back and take a while to recharge.
Everyone has different opinions of what the perfect break would be, I personally have so many things I would love to do if I had the chance, as travelling is something I really would love to do in the future. For now though I get to make the most of what I can do, and spend the chances I get to have a break relaxing in various different ways!
But why should we make the most of the opportunities we get to step back from the fast pace of every day life? Well there are a number of reasons I could give you, so I thought I’d write them out in a blog post for you, and also for myself when I am looking for some inspiration for things to do in my free time.

Get into the countryside.

As you may have seen on my blog this summer, I spent a week in Barmouth in Wales, a little town which is the perfect combination of seaside and countryside. Countryside retreats are perfect ways to ‘cut off’ from everything, spending time in a place with barely any internet connection can do wonders for you.

Step into the city.

On the other hand if countryside visiting isn’t your thing, you could try something that’s the complete opposite. Visiting a nearby city for the weekend and having some R&R might be just what you need. If like me you don’t live in a city staying somewhere so big can be a daunting experience, but it’s something I love to do. Last summer my family and I spent a weekend staying at The Palace Hotel in Manchester and shopping, and it’s definitley an experience I want to do again.

Cosy Movie Days

Taking a break doesn’t have to mean travelling, if you’re one of those people who likes to just lounge around at home then spending a day or two in your pyjamas with some friends and some snacks binge watching all your favourite films might be just what you need. I don’t think I’d ever turn down the chance to spend a day having a Harry Potter movie marathon.

If you’ve been paying attention you might have noticed there have been some slight adjustments to my blog! I’ve been trying to make my blog a bit easier to use, now instead of having different categories on the homepage, there are just two tabs, one with the latest posts on and also another tab which I’m going to fill with different featured posts! I’ve also added a cover image on the top of each post, to make everything a little bit more visually appealing. So a big thank you to Mina from UnderlineDesigns for all the hard work on my template!
