All throughout, besides the charming S-word there were f-bombs going off to the left and to the right of me. However, I must say, I'm anxious to read the next book and find out what happens, so I guess it worked? Minion is an excellent companion to Sidekicked and, while both can be read and enjoyed separately, young readers will no doubt want to devour them together! He hasn't really decided to be evil, but as circumstances fall into place around him, he gets sucked deeper into the criminal agenda.

I was pleasantly surprised by Sidekicked, John David Anderson’s first book in this superhero series. So while this first book is hard to trudge though I'm glad that I did because I've loved the books that follow.So the father-son relationship is rocky at times, but there's this assurance that those two will always have each other's back.

Michael does develop a crush on a girl and although nothing "happens," he talks a lot about how much he likes her (in his head, not to anyone).
