3 MANCHESTER RECOMMENDATIONS
Over the last week, I guess you could say that I’ve done more exploring than ever. Wondering around Manchester and hopping in and out of a small number of cafes and restaurants is definitely one of my favourite things to do. In this blog post, I’ve briefly spoken about some of the places that we visited, and I really suggest you check them out!
Located within the historic Principal Hotel, The Refuge is a bar/restaurant filled with both history and class. The particular images that you’re looking at were taken within a little ‘garden’ area within the centre of the restaurant. Outside of the garden walls is a beautiful restaurant, with tall beams and beautiful interior design. Their coffee and hot chocolate were perhaps some of the best hot drinks I have ever tasted, and their food – whilst I sadly didn’t purchase any to eat, looked (and smelt) delicious!
Barton Arcade is another building filled with history. It’s an old building, built originally in 1871. It’s a large, iron and glass piece of architecture that I couldn’t resist visiting. Inside you’ll find a variety of shops and even a cafe or two, what more could you want?
ROYAL EXCHANGE THEATRE
Now I’ll admit, I didn’t know what to expect going into this place. I’d briefly seen a couple of photographs of it online and heard about it from a couple of people… What’s crazy is I quite literally work two seconds around the corner and hadn’t visited until last week. The Royal Exchange Theatre is, well, a theatre but the inside of the building itself is absolutely gorgeous! We sat in this adorable cafe and sipped on – yet again more coffee! (In case you hadn’t already gathered, I love coffee.) We also were offered some delicious pastries!
