Description

If your team lands on a Wild space, you may read all of the Name 5 Challenges on the card, and decide which challenge to answer. It’s definitely more entertaining when played in teams. But two people can play one to one as well. How long is the timer for Name 5? These questions will allow your class to learn more about each other as they answer, and have fun together thinking of five unique answers to each question. As well as in in-class game, it's great for family time too - it's ideal for Grade 4 learners and upwards. The other team will play the Name 5 challenge that matches the other color on the space. One player from each team may then silently read the card. The timer is not used in this round.

And if they complete 5 turns, the game automatically shifts to the opponent team. Unique Spaces on the Game Board: When your team's token reaches the end of the board, you must roll the specific number of spaces needed to reach the Name 5 space in the center of the board. Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you. The team with the youngest player goes first. Each team puts their token on the Start space on the Game Board. If both teams shout out their first answer at the same time, they should go on to a second answer, until one team shouts out an answer first to win the round.

Start the timer, and name the items. If your team is successful, you roll the die and move double the number rolled on the die.

Teams take it in turns to roll the dice and move that many spaces. A player from an opposing team then takes the top card from their pile and reads out the category which corresponds to the colored space the active team’s pawn just landed on. Once the category has been read out, the sand timer is turned and the active team has 30 seconds to name five things which fall into that category. If they succeed the team takes another turn (up to a maximum of three), but if they fail, play passes to the next team. Get your EFL/ESL students speaking with this fun speaking game. Great to encourage fluency, revision of key vocabulary and could be used as a warmer/warm-up or ice-breaker activity. Perfect for beginner (CEFR A1 level) - elementary (CEFR A2 level) students. Coupled with brilliant illustrations, this Name 5 things speaking game is a perfect way to increase exposure to understanding a variety of different objects and people by naming them in English. Once you have your cards ready, you can use them whenever and wherever you like with your children. It will ask them to find things related to their five sensory receptors, such as five things that are small or five things that taste sweet. This is a creative way for children who benefit from sensory play to match the taste, sound, smell, sight or texture of something to an adjective. Make a List of Nouns:A noun is any word that can be used as a stand-alone noun to define a person, place, or thing. You should think about all your game elements and write down the nouns they describe. For example, a game about a pirate ship could have nouns like pirate, treasure, boat, and sword. If your team lands on a Flip Flop space, turn over a card and read the Name 5 Challenge that matches the color on the space.Start the timer, and your team has 30 seconds to name 5 items for that Name 5 Challenge. If successful, your team takes another turn. If not, it's the other team's turn. If you'd like to issue a challenge to a certain answer, put it to a vote, or look it up. Failing that, simply choose another card and play that Name 5 challenge. What we didn’t like about Name 5 was the gameplay itself. My family isn’t big on games with timers anyway, but we soon found the roll-and-move method boring, particularly at the end of the game. Instead, we ended up completely changing the game to suit our playing style. We pretty much ditched the board entirely and converted Name 5 into an Apples to Apples/ Cards Against Humanity style card game where one person would simply take the top card and read a category out to the current player who would then try to name five items for it. If successful, they got to keep the card, and whoever had the most cards when we decided the game was over was declared the winner. Name 5 is a party game. Certain Name 5 categories are more open-ended than others. Certain categories are more subjective, where others are very direct and have a limited number of correct responses. The human body has many different sensory receptors, both inside and outside the body. Take a look below for the main five sensory receptors and their respective organs. Make a List of Adjectives: Adjectives describe nouns. They help to give us more information about them by describing their qualities, features, or characteristics. For example, for our pirate ship game, some adjectives we can add are dangerous, rusty, old, and fancy. The Name 5 Things game is an exercise for labelling, naming and categorising objects. The more practise your child gets, the better and they will grow more comfortable with thinking words up on the spot. The simple nature of the game means there is very little pressure and it is great for teaching your child English as an additional language and aiding their communication skills. How do I play the Name 5 Things Game?

Note : A variation to the All Play is to have each team simply shout out ONE answer to their Name 5 challenge. The first team to "Name 1" wins the round. All Play: The All Play spaces have two colors below the symbol. If you land on an All Play card, you get to choose which color category to play without looking at the card, and the opposing team plays the other. One player from each team reads the category, and when both are ready, they announce it to the rest of their team. The first team to name five items for their category wins and gets to take the next go but if neither team can complete it, the round is repeated with a new card. For this reason, we found it impossible to put each and every correct answer in this box. We encourage you to police yourselves while playing. If you can name five items for both categories in 30 seconds, you get to roll again and move double the number of spaces, otherwise, play passes to the next team or player.
