WAYS TO MAKE YOUR WINTER
Cold Weather, Winter Coats and Seasonal Drinks
All you need to know for the perfect Winter!
Well it’s the first week of December everybody, and you know what that means. Christmas content! I love this time of year, both in general and as a blogger as it’s such an amazing time of year. Christmas blog posts are both fun to write and to read, and I guess that’s one of the main reasons I enjoy this month. If you’ve been around for a while you might have read my extremely old Christmas posts from last year, there’s a few there, and whilst no they’re not exactly the best things in the world it does somewhat give you a little insight into the type of things you can expect from me this month! (Only this time they’re going to be much better.) Jake and I have been brainstorming a small number of different Christmas related videos that we’re going to record when we get the chance, ones which are going to be uploaded to either my channel
, so make sure you subscribe to both of them to keep up to date! I’m not exactly going to be doing Blogmas this year. As much as I want to I literally do not have the time (as you’ll already know if you’ve read me apologise for it countless times in previous posts.) Nevertheless I am going to at least be uploading a little more regularly.
There’s nothing more perfect around this time of year than really getting yourself in a festive mood!
Getting excited for Christmas, before Christmas makes the whole month just that little bit more exciting…. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, some people just naturally don’t get into the festive spirit and that’s okay. If you’re one of those people, who like me can find it a bit hard to shift their mind away from everything else and actually enjoy the festive season, this post is for you. One that’s going to be filled with little ideas and ways you can make your Christmas that little bit more Christmasy!
Get your decorations up.
Christmas decorations… Some people love them, others, not so much. I personally absolutely love Christmas decorations. Something about seeing my home all filled up with decorations just makes everything feel so warm and festive. Just earlier today Jake and I spent a while decorating the cute little Christmas Tree he bought for his bedroom, and it instantly sent my Christmas spirit into overdrive.
Have a Christmas movie day.
The fact it’s December can only mean one thing. It’s now socially acceptable to watch Christmas movies. There’s nothing I love more than sitting down during a chilly winters day, hot chocolate in hand, watching Christmas films. Whilst I may have actually started watching my Christmas movies a little while before December came around, now there’s no better excuse than to spend the whole day curled up in your pyjamas and a blanket watching The Grinch (or any other Christmas film which you might happen to like.)
This isn’t one of those things you necessarily have to do alone!
Make an event out of it. Bring some friends round for a Christmas movie day or a Christmas movie sleepover and just watch countless amounts of Christmas films.
Last year I wrote a little post filled with some of my favourite Christmas films, and it’s safe to say my list hasn’t really expanded too much afar from that. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a must see film. I recently watched The Santa Claus 3, and loved it. There are countless amounts of films you can watch, not all of which are necessarily cheesy holiday classics.
Dance like nobody’s watching.
Not much of a dancer? Neither am I, but there is nothing more fun to do than to throw on a classic Christmas song playlist and just let your hair down and have some fun dancing around to it in your bedroom.
Christmas music for me is a vital part of my ‘festive spirit’, I mean really, without it how would we even know it’s Christmas! You don’t necessarily have to stick to the old songs either, Christmas and Chill by Ariana Grande is one of my favourite Christmas albums, as well as her Christmas Kisses EP.
‘Christmas-ize’ your drinks.
Now let me tell you… There are countless numbers of different seasonal drinks out there. Starbucks, Costa and even little coffee shops have their own seasonal drinks. I always remember loving a Christmas drink from Costa last year, I couldn’t tell you which one it was, but there was definitley one I loved. Whilst I haven’t actually tried one of their seasonal drinks this year yet, I’m definitley going to be checking them out as soon as I get the chance.
What are some of your favourite things to do at this time of year?
