About this deal

I have however seen ghosts on a number of occasions and once you have experienced a sighting it will never leave you. Mr Ian Sharpe unfortunately fell victim to a disturbing occurrence that involved the spirit of one of the victims that perished in that violent wreck running in front of his bus. The area has an immense feeling of tragedy and pain and there is obviously the numerous occurrences of drivers picking up a young woman only for them to disappear in the car. Sightings of the Blue Bell Hill ghost continue to this day and there is much speculation as to the identity of the spectre or spectres. Early in January 1993, a family of five were driving on Blue Bell Hill in the early hours of the morning.

It is believed that one was immediately killed on impact and two slipped away at the hospital within a week. And most magnetic materials would rapidly lose their magnetic properties under the constant percussion of the engine firing. Over the years further incidents were reported and somewhere along the line the ghostly apparitions were linked to one of three women who were killed on the A229 in a car crash in November 1965. It is believed that her ghost is the one that haunts that stretch of road where she spent her final moments. According to legend, this could be a young Rochester maid who was allegedly murdered in the early 20th century. Not everyone was convinced it was a ghost, and some said it was a distorted view of a road sign, illuminated by car lights. They had this device that meant you could hear the ghosts and it picked up some voices, screaming and shouting for help. The empirical proof of my idea is that you don't hear of massive energy losses every time a heavy rainstorm hits a power cable, as zillions of raindrops carry away the charge.

All three crew – the pilot, Graham Budden, and two paramedics, Tony Richardson and Mark Darby – were killed on impact. Everytime we drove past the bit close to the petrol station (where there is a tunnel under the road) I used to get Pins and needles quite badly. I'm not saying you couldn't make a magnet that would retain its properties under these conditions (modern materials are pretty clever in the world of magnets), but why would anyone want to? I remember the author of the article in Fortean Times a few years ago speculated that the sightings were linked to folklore and the disruption of earth spirits - and may have been a result of the road works being carried out at Bluebell Hill in the early 90's.Drivers have reported seeing their ghosts standing on the side of the road or walking in front of their cars, some even claim they have seen a woman in a white dress darting across the road. There are several theories about how the bend got its name, but in the reported legend, the Devil’s Elbow is said to have been the meeting place for two forbidden lovers who were restricted by the father. Although some proposed victims have arisen, like our Resurrection Mary, the Blue Bell Hill Ghost’s true personhood remains a mystery.

It is believed to be the ghost of a woman who died in a tragic car accident in 1965, near the bridge over the Old Chatham Road. Until 2019, the most recent sighting was witnessed by a family who were driving in the area in January 1993. The 22-year-old was killed with two friends in a road traffic accident near the bridge over the Old Chatham Road the day before she was due to get married on on November 19 of that year. Close to the site of a Neolithic long barrow and three sarsen standing stones, there is little else to set it apart from other similar English roads. These events show an affinity with the legendary Phantom Hitch-Hiker, suggesting that far from being mere vestiges of a superstitious folk tradition, they may reflect a genuine but complex phenomenon that continues to manifest in modern times and settings, and challenges our very notions of reality. Then the police officer reveals that, like many before you, you may have encountered the ghost of Blue Bell Hill. I can always tell when someone's pulling your leg, but from looking at that footage they were absolutely terrified, the person was genuinely scared. It is so named because of the difficulty in negotiating the turn, especially for horse-drawn vehicles.
