Description

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to perform the floor press. Note that in the below instructions, the barbell floor press is demonstrated. However, the steps are nearly identical if you were to use dumbbells or kettlebells (both of which are fine options.) The floor press can isolate specific aspects that may be limiting a bench press, increase upper body strength, and be used to add variety to general pressing programs.

Once ready for full application, determine the number of coats you plan to apply. Prepare solution for each coat separately in a sturdy container. Add the appropriate amount of Crosslinker to the container, dividing it between the containers for each coat. NOTE: Once Crosslinker is added to the Floor Grip, solution must be applied to the floor within 4-6 hours. CAUTION: MIX WELL BEFORE APPLYING Safety & Slip Resistance: Graepels metal flooring offers improved underfoot safety, in addition to a comfortable walking surface. It is an ideal choice for walkways and platforms, stairways, ladder rungs, and steps. It also offers increased slip-resistance and safety through its upward embossment. Vigorously shake the bottle for 2 to 3 minutes. Pour the anti-slip coating into a container and mix well to ensure there is no clumping of the texture. GripX anti-slip coating needs to be rolled on to the surface using a high-quality lint free paint roller and a applied as thin uniform coatings. Always apply 2 coats to every surface to ensure the highest level of durability. Allow the first coat to dry for 2-4 hours before applying the second coat. The second coat should be applied at a right angle to the first coat. Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned. *Not required* For increased adhesion by sanding use a maroon pad or 320-400 grit sandpaper to lightly scuff the floor.

Step 4: Add an appropriate amount of additive to the solution, depending on a number of coats, and mix well. Medium texture is recommended. Read the additive bottle label for instructions. In the event lifters have issues with their shoulder while pressing, simply cutting down the range of motion in any horizontal press motion can ease up on the shoulders while still providing a good stimulus. In addition to neutral-grip pressing, which also reduces shoulder strain due to joint positioning, the floor press can be done in place of the bench press on pressing days. Yes, and you should try it. The kettlebell floor press reinforces proper wrist positioning, scapular stability, and lowering of the weights. This is a great warm-up movement to educate a lifter on maintaining scapular and wrist stability during the bench press. Should you lie on a pad when doing floor presses? Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and prepared by appropriate sanding methods. Using a maroon pad or 320-400 grit sandpaper is recommended to lightly scuff the floor. Prior to the coating application, remove all dust from floor and surrounding structures. Always protect neighbouring surfaces including carpet, metal and other surfaces.

TEST SAMPLE: Floor Grip should be tested on flooring surfaces before full application. To prepare test sample, pour a small amount of Floor Grip into a separate container with a small amount of additive, mix well. Apply to a clean inconspicuous area of your floor and allow to dry completely. Increased Choice: Graepels metal flooring is available in more than twenty types. Many types are also available in safety steps and ladders rungs. A range of materials are also available including steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Step 1: TEST SAMPLE: Floor Grip should be tested on flooring surfaces before full application. To prepare test sample, pour a small amount of Floor Grip into a separate container with a small amount of additive, mix well, do not shake. Apply to a clean inconspicuous area of your floor and allow to dry completely. SlipDoctors GripX is a durable anti-slip coating specifically formulated to increase the slip resistance on tiles, natural, stamped, and stained concrete, sealed surfaces, and most other natural stone. GripX is an easy-to-apply roll on coating that once cured has a semi-gloss textured finish and can be used indoors or outdoors.

The floor press is a pressing movement used to increase the size, strength, and performance of the upper body, specifically the triceps and chest. Below are the primary muscles used, in the floor press movement: Pectorals (Chest) Below are three primary training goals and programming recommendations when programming the floor presses into workouts. Note, that these are general guidelines, and by no means should be used as the only way to program the floor press. To Gain Muscle The pectoral muscles (chest) are the primary muscle groups involved in the force production needed to perform the floor press. While the floor press is limited in range of motion at the shoulder joint, the chest muscles are still used (just less than in a normal bench press) to perform the lift. Triceps The restricted range of motion (since the elbows hit the floor before the pecs can fully stretch) increased the loading and demands placed upon the triceps to extend at the top, having great carry-over to the bench press and other pressing movements. More Upper-Body Strength

OUR TYPICAL ANTI-SLIP TAPE SIZES

The floor press can be used to increase muscle mass in the triceps and chest, and can be a great way to overload the triceps specifically. To build muscle mass in the triceps and chest you can train a variety of rep ranges. For best results, add variety into your training program using rep ranges of five to 10, 10 to 20, or 20 to 30 reps for a total of three to five sets. To Gain Strength Many lifters may not know what the floor press is, mainly because it’s popular among hardcore strength athletes. The thing is, anyone — from a gym newb to a seasoned vet — can benefit from this pressing variation. So, we’re going to show you how to do the floor press, along with variations, and outline the benefits. Our exclusive roll-on anti-slip coating is a clear, self-leveling 100% waterborne urethane sealer that helps prevent slip-and-fall accidents when properly applied. Designed for creating an anti-slip coating on natural hardwood floors, engineered hardwoods, bamboo, vinyl, vinyl composition tile VCT, LVT, linoleum, laminate, cork, epoxy, and previously sealed floors. Our standard anti-slip tape offers high traction and durable protection underfoot for light to medium pedestrian foot traffic for steps, stairs, and walkways. GripClad®’s abrasive standard tape provides excellent levels of grip and friction, and abrasive coarse tape provides industrial grade grip.

Conformable anti-slip tape adopts the profile of chequer plate and will not lift or rise off. Once it is pressed into place on uneven surfaces, conformable taperemains in that shape and resists lifting. In the below section we discuss the various strength, power, and fitness athletes who can benefit from integrating the floor press within strength and accessory training programs. https://youtube.com/watch?v=PpiqWNY52M0 Video can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: How to Floor Press for Maximum Bench Press Strength (https://youtube.com/watch?v=PpiqWNY52M0) More Triceps Muscle Even when wet, your slippery floor’s slip resistance after the non-slip solution will surpass ANSI A137.1, A326.3 or B101.3 standards.

If you or your athletes/clients have an injury, it is best to get it looked at before swapping exercises and hoping for the best. If working with previously sealed surfaces any chipping or flaking should be sanded or scuffed to a sound surface. If the sealed surface is sound, lightly sand with a soft grit sandpaper to promote adhesion. Scrub and clean surface with pH-neutral cleaner. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry before application. GripX cannot be applied over wood, synthetic, or painted surfaces. Below are three floor press alternatives coaches and athletes can use to increase chest and triceps strength and muscle hypertrophy.
