They’re fun, they’re hard working and together they were pretty damn sexy. I can’t say though that their story had that special spark that I’ve come to love and expect from James’ leading characters. There was just a little something missing that made me not fall head over heels in love with it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun, it’s completely entertaining and enjoyable, just not a story that stood out. The ending also felt a bit rushed to me. I was wishing for another chapter or something to help bring a little more closure overall to the story. I really enjoyed reading this book. The fact that is by an Australian author and based in country Western Australia (where I am from) as well as South Australia, makes it easier to relate to the characters.
Vettriano's inspiration for the triptych came after watching footage for Formula 1 in that era.
