About this deal

And if we're being honest, none of us are surprised because, well, we expect masterpieces and only masterpieces from him, and he has yet to let me down. In fact, my expectations were already sky-high for Cytonic, and BrandoSando managed to exceed even that. I still don't know how he does it, but I am content to accept it and be left to devour every book he has ever published. Spensa is the protagonist as is usual with the main series. M-bot and Doomslug (I would die for Doomslug) appear in the book too but the other main characters from previous books have very short parts only. For some reason, I find myself more enamored by the humans in this series which made the characters in book one my favorite. Book two characters took some time to warm up to but I ended up loving them, in book three it was a bit tedious to go all over new characters again which made me feel lukewarm at best regarding the characterization in this entry. Now, the Superiority—the governing galactic alliance bent on dominating all human life—has started a galaxy-wide war. And Spensa’s seen the weapons they plan to use to end it: the Delvers. Ancient, mysterious alien forces that can wipe out entire planetary systems in an instant. Spensa knows that no matter how many pilots the DDF has, there is no defeating this predator.

As always, Sanderson delivers the best books, and for all my initial panic with this one, I was absolutely in love. In a Reddit Q&A leading up to the release of the first book, Brandon stated that the trilogy would likely become a four book series. [2] In his 2018 State of the Sanderson, he stated that due to the amount of time needed to complete Rhythm of War, Cytonic "[wouldn't] be written until 2020, for a spring 2021 release." [3] In the 2019 State of the Sanderson, this was updated to writing in late 2020 for a "likely" 2021 release. [4]Spensa’s life as a Defiant Defense Force pilot has been far from ordinary. She proved herself one of the best starfighters in the human enclave of Detritus and she saved her people from extermination at the hands of the Krell—the enigmatic alien species that has been holding them captive for decades. What’s more, she traveled light-years from home as an undercover spy to infiltrate the Superiority, where she learned of the galaxy beyond her small, desolate planet home. Hesho's kingdom took up over a third of the kitsen homeworld. Three weeks before traveling to Starsight, he stepped away from the throne, becoming instead a member of the kitsen democratic assembly and a ship captain. [12] [9] Hesho's status as former king of his people is somewhat questionable, as he seems to bear the title in all but name, [6] and the new senate tends to unanimously vote against his wishes in an apparent attempt to prove that they are independent. [9] He is determined to convince all around him that he is no longer the monarch of his people. [8] Captain Hesho [ edit ] The way everything fit together at the end was literally mind-blowing. BrandoSando always manages to write endings to his books that make me scream (*cough* Starsight *cough*), cry (*cough* The Hero of Ages *cough*), or both. Occasionally he makes me do a victory whoop. I think the ending to Cytonic had me doing all of these to some extent. It was sad, empowering, and satisfying at the same time. I will be biding my time in the days until Defiant comes out. If it's not later this coming year, BrandoSando and I are going to have some words engage in a pleasant discussion about his release schedules. Brandon originally wanted to call the book Nowhere, but the publisher opposed that idea and he ended up deferring to their request. [6] [7] Reception [ ] El primer tercio del libro, donde descubre a Chet y van pasando por islas es aburridillo. El comportamiento y razonamientos de Spensa y M-bot no son de Young Adult, son de un infantilismo que lo flipaba.

PS: I strongly recommend reading the novellas in this series as well as they are important to the overall story. For sure there's no doubt at all that I scudding loved Spensa's character growth. IT WAS SCUDDING AMAZING OHMYGOD. The things she discovered about herself and coming to terms with certain realizations?? I actually got really emotional at the end of the book and of course that's no surprise considering how well written Sanderson's characters always are. Spensa begins to lose her memory and sense of time as a result of being in the nowhere and only remembers her identity because she has an "icon" resembling her father's pin and memory dust. She is caught trying to steal a ship by the Broadsiders pirate organization and becomes one of their members. Spensa starfights a mysterious figure from the Cannonades, a rival pirate gang, and becomes the pirate champion. She also discovers that the Cannonade's representative is actually Hesho, who has completely lost his memory. Spensas life as a Defiant Defense Force pilot has been far from ordinary. Ancient, mysterious alien forces that can wipe out entire planetary systems in an instant. Spensa knows that no matter how many pilots the DDF has, there is no defeating this predator. Except that Spensa is Cytonic. She faced down a Delver and saw something eerily familiar about it. And maybe, if shes able to figure out what she is, she could be more than just another pilot in this unfolding war. She could save the galaxy. The only way she can discover what she really is, though, is to leave behind all she knows and enter the Nowhere. A place from which few ever return. To have courage means facing fear. And this mission is terrifying. Cytonic (Skyward, #3) by Brandon Sanderson – eBook Details Chet reveals that he is actually the delver Spensa reformed, and distracts the delvers, allowing Spensa to escape. They also view the final memory, which reveals that delvers are actually a form of artificial intelligence that duplicated themselves an infinite number of times to form monstrous beings, all to repress strong emotions at seeing Write and other humans they loved die. M-Bot sacrifices himself to the delvers, which gives Spensa the final boost to leave the Nowhere. Chet merges with Spensa, and she gains his memories. Doomslug, who can change her shape, is revealed to be Spensa's icon who was surreptitiously helping her all along.
