The very first SMART Technology launched was Greenwood CommissionSMART™ Technology on our iconic Unity CV2GIP product. Traditional humidity sensors usually provide ventilation when it is needed, but it is often when it isn’t needed that the fan still comes on... WHY???? Because it uses a generic base line to activate the fan e.g. 65%. If it happens to be a hot summer's evening and the windows are open in the bathroom, this will activate the fan therefore causing nuisance running and unnecessary energy consumption! The second introduction of SMART Technology was Greenwood HumidiSMART™ which has taken humidity controlled ventilation by storm - now available in Unity CV2GIP, Omnique, Samika, Vireo MVHR and Centair CMEV.4e. Today a range of motor types, performances and controls are available in intermittent fan models including Axial, Centrifugal and Mixed Flow and then humidity, timer, delay timer, pull cord and more... Performance is key with intermittent ventilation because the fan is only on for a short amount of time.Don't miss the new 'Do Not Disturb' functionality that allows you to define a period during which the fan won't boost eg. 10pm - 6am to prevent night-time running. It's designed to deliver Guaranteed Installed Performance. With airflow sensing technology it will sense, react and extract to the correct performance for each installation. This helps eliminate mold and condensation caused by poor fan performance (even it's making a noise - it might not be ventilating effectively). Incorporating Greenwood Fan’s own CommissionSMART™ and TimerSMART™ technology, these fans allow for greater usage savings in terms of energy efficiency and installation. As they come with an ultra-low energy DC motor and mixed flow impellor, they boast a superior level of performance, and with both mains voltage fans and SELV 24 DC low voltage fans, this is also a versatile solution for both refurbishment and new-build applications.

Unity CV3SV features a new and logical approach to timer operation. Its SMARTer beacause in contrast to traditional timers, it looks at the duration of occupancy to define running time rather than have a fixed running period. This removes nuisance running noise, especially at night, and unnecessary energy wastage and heat loss typically associated with traditional timers.It's a 'one fan' solution for bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, and wc's. This makes it easy for large scale planned new build and maintenance programs. SMART Technology comes in sensors, controls and design features within our products, usually our GIP product range. Greenwood Airvac were the first people to re-think the aesthetics of a standard extractor fan when they introduced solid fascias to blend more effectively with modern interiors. They are now challenging convention again with a circular fan which blends in even further, especially in ceilings. Designed for new and existing homes, it has been designed to take on board the continued importance of reducing energy consumption, easy compliance with Regulations, and contribution to well-being by eliminating nuisance noise and contributing to improving indoor air quality. It's designed with 'Do Not Disturb' technology. This is so that it never causes a nuisance and is less likely to be turned off. The technology includes SMART Humidity sensing, a SMART overrun timer and a brand new Do Not Disturb setting.
