Unfortunately, a judge called that time was running out for the players in turning point 2, meaning that the players had to scramble for the limited points available to them to score. Wallace was in the lead on primaries, but Dan squeezed the win. I had abandoned ship at this point for the pub. I can’t help but feel that if the length of the game had been made clear at the start that both players might have played it very differently – cutting it short midway is Feels Bad for everyone. More importantly though, I had an incredible time getting to know people, seeing everyone’s teams, and learning different playstyles. My enjoyment truly derived, in the main, from the enthusiasm and sportsmanship of the average Kill Team player, which was on full display in Manchester. The pre-final wrap-up and awards ceremony had a great vibe to it. The eclectic raiders that make up a Corsair warband come from all walks of Aeldari life, and those drawn from a craftworld bear a spirit stone. This psychoreactive gem absorbs an Aeldari’s soul when they perish, keeping it safe from the hunger of Slaanesh until it can be returned to its craftworld – and perhaps be installed in a sleek wraithbone construct .

Kill Team Nachmund introduces us to two new kill teams. Representing Chaos are the Legionary Kill Team, replacing Chaos Space Marine kill teams, while on the eldar side the Corsair Voidscarred give us our first new Eldar kill team, though not one that replaces Craftworlds or Drukhari teams. Instead, the Corsairs represent the best and worst of the Aeldari in a single team, giving us many more options and ways to build. Voidreavers: In many ways the new unit is an upgrade over the old corsair reaver bands. While you lose the “annihilate everything” brace of pistols for your units and the long range punch of the missile launcher the wraithcannon gives you a significant threat, and their special rules are much better. I prefer the shuriken rifles to the old shredder carbines and they mesh well with the corsair ability to get auto-wounds. This month’s White Dwarf joins in with the Kill Team fun with a set of rules for fielding Harlequins in the skirmish combat game. There are also 18 Kill Team Tac Ops cards, a Total War: Warhammer III poster, new Warhammer Age of Sigmar rules for the Blades of Khorne , and much more!The Starstorm Duellist is equipped with two pistols: the Shuriken Pistol with its Rending critical rule and the mini-meltagun called a Fusion Pistol, with 5 normal damage, 2 mortal wounds dealt on every critical hit and Armour Penetration 2, but a short range of Square/3 inches.

Sensing an approaching crux of destiny, the psyker summons the certainty and confidence of ancient days. Doubt and fear are washed from their mind, and those nearby gain grim resolve from the psyker's indomitable aura. The Soul Weaver is the healer of the Voidscarred kill team. She is a psyker according to her keywords, but she has the same weapons as a Warrior and her “magic” is made through two Unique Actions: Soul Channel adds 1 to the Action Point Limit of a nearby friendly operative, and Soul Heal heals D3 wounds on one nearby friendly operative, and can be used twice in an activation (on two separate targets). The operative would still count as performing the action for all rules purposes. For example, if it performed it during its activation, it would not be able to perform the action again during that activation. But what drives the Aeldari to abandon their regimented lifestyle and hoist the Jolly Roger? There are as many reasons as there are Corsairs, but all share a common desire – to be free from the confines of their old lives.

Let me start this recap by saying that I am not a competitive player. I signed up to the Warhammer Fest Kill Team GT with the goal to play more Kill Team, because it’s a game ideally suited to my sensibilities: Small teams, perfectly formed. I have the reputation in my group as that guy –you know, the one that won’t shut up about Kill Team. Before last weekend, however, I had only a handful of games under my belt. My stretch goal was to go 1-5 with my glorious silver idiots, and hopefully have some fun while getting them killed. This lets you make a free Dash action with up to three friendly operatives, but they have to finish the Dash closer to the nearest objective marker if there are any left that are not being carried by operatives. Owing allegiance to nobody but themselves, these corsairs travel the galaxy, diving into whichever fights stand to benefit them most. What’s their angle in Kill Team: Nachmund? You’ll just have to wait and see. Voidscarred ( Kurnite Hunter • Kurnathi • Shade Runner Starstorm Duelist • Fate Dealer) Voidstorm Squad • Voidstorm Band • Malevolent Band • Wasp Squadron People who already got their kits can confirm (and I've seen it mentioned in passing by the early reviewers), but looking through the build instructions and the list-building rules preview so far, it looks like if you follow the instructions to build out all the Specialists, you won't have enough models for a legal Kill Team.A Voidscarred Kill Team consists of 9 Operatives: 1 Voidscarred Felarch, who acts as the team leader, and 8 additional operatives chosen from a list. Voidscarred Warriors are the teams rank-and-file, and you can have as many of those as you like, while you get up to one Voidscarred Gunner carrying a blaster or shredder, or one Heavy Gunner with a shuriken cannon or wraith cannon. The Kurnite Hunter has the same weapons loadout as a Voidscarred Warrior, but it also has a bird called a Faolchú (which, weirdly, sounds like a Warhammerification of “falcon” but is actually the Middle Irish word for “wolf hound”)!
