Ended up buying a 100ml, it's sweet without being cloying which I think is in large part due to the solid tonka base, I personally don't see how the dry down could be seen as masculine as the florals continue to balance out the profile. Intensive fruity notes to the extreme, as often in Escada fragrances, but this one is highlighted with the sweet tonka been and the balmy sandalwood base. That doesn't mean I don't like Agua Del Sol. I do! It's a feel-good perfume. It's on my wrist now and it just makes me think of California girls...

Basically - starts of pleasant for a short time. Over time becomes more and more artificial. Wouldn't say unpleasant. But also wouldn't say pleasant either. Don't like it. The name is so close to "Cherry in The Air" - which *excited* me as I LOVED that perfume! But "Cherry In Japan" doesn't even have any cherries in it! C'mon, Escada. Cherries and cherry blossoms don't smell the same! Why not call it "Cherry blossoms In Japan" then? Or even "Sakura in the Air" etc. 🌸 I wear that perfume when I want to smell fresh, feminine in a girly way, and for little dates such as going to the park with my bf or when we go and fix our cars together, that's funny being a girly mechanic that smells like fresh florals, it makes us laugh with my boyfriend. Cherry in Japan starts out sweet and heavy. Not only do I smell cherry, but it also smells of berries. It stays heavy and sweet for about 3 hours, after that this fragrance tones it down to a pleasant cherry blossom and jasmine combination. The heavy start is honestly too cloying for me on hot summer days, so I'd prefer to wear Cherry in Japan in spring.

It's one of those perfumes, I think people will like very much. I'm just not sure about the base notes. Unfortunately it's the same with the other notes. This is more on the fresh and floral side of the Escada fruitiness spectrum, with a generic, shampoo-ish flowery note that is supposed to be dahlia. I never met a dahlia that smelled like much in real life, so I guess the dahlia note just a fancy way of saying 'vaguely floral'. There is something warm and creamy in the base, but it doesn't really smell like sandalwood. All in all this is pleasant enough, not as sour as last year's Miami Blossom, but nothing special. Also really light as soon as the opening dies down. Perfect for summer, especially if you’re going on vacation or to the beach! So fruity and delicious! Love the smell of the other Escada ranges but I dread having to spray these limited editions every summer at work !The scent is created by star perfumer Honorine Blanc, a passionate lover of fragrance with a true artistic spirit.
