Description

Besides the board, there are 4 playing counters, 12 symbol tiles with matching covers, 28 double sided ‘life’ cards, and one die. Fun for all the family and cleverly designed so that children and adults have an equal chance of winning.

We found it was easier with the children to not use the scoring rack and cards and just play the guessing game, it was just as much fun for them finding items and hiding them in the box and laughing in hilarity at our guesses. This version could build the confidence of a less able player until they are ready to play the full version.

The more often players land on these squares, the more difficult it gets to remember where everything is. g. any three fruits, so that’s another way you can adapt the game when playing it with different players of different ages and abilities. If you guess wrong, you lose a life and have to turn over a card, so that the red side is facing up. Players place their life cards with the green side up in front of them, and place their playing counters on one of the four start squares.

The players begin by placing their markers on the board and then proceed to roll the six-sided dice and move accordingly, a-la Monopoly, the corresponding number of places on the track. Baffled is a memory game aimed, according to the box, at kids of ages eight and above, but really a five-year-old could comfortably understand and play it too. Every action the player takes directly corresponds to the location of their meeple and the meeples of other players.Winner of 2 x GOLD awards: for ‘Best Family Game’ and ‘Best Problem-Solving Game’ in the Imagination Gaming Awards 2018!

There is also a square where you can ask one of the other players to either find a specific symbol, or say what is hidden at a specific position – but choose carefully, because if they get it right, YOU lose a life! You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. So, the board: big, takes up a lot of space on the table and can be easily replaced, without major changes to the gameplay. The last player standing takes the trophy, but as you’ll find out, having the best memory only gets you so far as the other players scramble to swap, deceive, and steal the victory! his choice of items in the box were errrmm interesting haha (think cat fluff, a feather, a very specific piece of Lego! We were particularly impressed that the game even suggested strategies to help children (and grown ups) remember the tiles. What with Baffled being as simple a game as it is, the main element of gameplay (board spaces) are an integral part of any strategies or plays an opponent might want to try on. Since then, Baffled has earned a firm spot in my family and I’s favourite games, and it’s easy to see why.
