Description

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Basic purpose is to remove/flatten any minute specs of dust, etc, that were airborne and have settled while the finish was drying, and/or any specs of rubbish that were in the liquid finish as you applied it (though you do strain your material through a coffee filter and old pair of ladies tights before EVERY use, don't you?Feel the rough surface, wipe across with the abrasive, feel the surface again, and if it's smooth, stop. Also as the instructions on the tin say to sand the bare wood to 120 grit so I would need to use the same grit between coats and then like 600 grit after the final coat? Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable).

But if you want to apply more coats of finish, repeat the process of sanding or wet sanding once again, and then wiping, blowing or brushing off the dust again and applying another coat. You might notice at this point that the finish looks really bad, I might look dull, dusty or kind of murky, but don’t worry about that, because the next coat of finish is going to make it look beautiful again! The three dimensional structure of the pads is easy to use on contoured surfaces and profiles, as well as areas which are difficult to reach. It might seem counter-intuitive to be sanding a finish that you’ve just applied, so I prefer to think about it as polishing the finish that you’ve applied rather than sanding it. The purpose of doing this between coats is to smooth down any raised grain or imperfections that have occurred from the first application. There is a chance that it will help but its difficult to say for sure with out seeing the doors and the variance that you have experienced.
