Powerful CORSAIR iCUE software enables custom audio equalizer settings, SoundID personalized audio, Dolby Audio 7.

There are useful additional features, such as EQ presets, but you shouldn’t really need it to get an amazing 7. You are responsible for the contents of your comments and any consequences that may arise as a result of them. Granted they are more versatile and can moonlight as regular headphones, but both the Astro A30 and the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 are pricier. Finally, there’s also the impressive soundstage and sound imaging, both of which it inherited from the wired HS65.The Corsair HS65 Wireless features integration with Corsair’s iCUE companion app, and while there aren’t a ton of bells and whistles, it might still be worth installing, if only for firmware updates. On the left side, you’ll find a notched volume dial that provides subtle feedback as you rotate it, as well as a mute button and USB-C port for charging the device. If you’re not, then know that it’s a comfortable, elegant and modern yet still gaming-forward design paired with a good though not quite premium build. Of course, even in gaming, sound quality matters as well, and I’m happy to report that all frequencies are well-represented in both of those games, as well as Sable, which has a very detailed soundscape. With on-ear volume control for convenient audio adjustments, you can press play on great sound with the HS65 WIRELESS.

The microphone is rigid, yet flexible, allowing you to position it in a way that best suits your vocal preferences. If you’re already hooked into iCUE with a bunch of other gaming peripherals, and you want a wireless gaming headset to round out your collection, it might be worthy considering the Corsair HS65 Wireless. surround sound feature in iCue, and suddenly, the soundscape is much wider and much more immersive without sounding artificial. Personally, I took the Movie Theater preset, copied it, and made a couple of tweaks to get the settings that I currently use. It can spice-up music a little, but it’s not a guaranteed solution for 360-degree awareness in video games. But its key point of differentiation is it includes a small USB dongle that connects to your computer and a smart interface with Corsair’s iCue software. Too many gaming peripherals are festooned with “gaming aesthetic” trimmings, and frankly, the Corsair HS65 Surround’s design is a nice departure from that, especially its white-and-silver colorway (a carbon one is on hand as well if you prefer to stick with an all-black setup). The HS65 Wireless does give you plenty of rumble in games and makes explosions and power sounds have a bit more body to them. Playing a game like Dredge, the orchestral backing track comes through clearly, without overshadowing any in-game sound, and directional cues indicating things like the approach of water spouts or eldritch horrors approaching from the depths of the ocean come through clearly. It would be nice to have a slider-type feature where you could dial in how much of the Sound ID you like, but as it is you either leave it on, turn it off, or run the test again for new results. Generally, a game that’s got good sound design will make it possible to pick up on the direction of things even with stereo headphones, and some games will have their own special surround sound modes available. This is largely because of its default sound profile which is extremely bass-heavy and overpowers most of the other frequency ranges.

Thankfully, my voice came through much louder and clearer than anything else, and it even avoided clipping plosive consonant sounds from my speech. However, you’re also getting an incredibly immersive soundstage, long-range connectivity, and a 10-band EQ to fix its colored sound quality. The plastic body doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy, and plays into the headset being extremely light at 275g. The HS65 wired version had one of the best microphones among any gaming headset, and unfortunately, the wireless version doesn’t match up to the same quality.Playing CS:GO on PC, I find low-frequency sounds are much too loud, since the game already emphasizes bass a ton. Additionally, the HS65 Wireless also works with PS4 and PS5 consoles, with the latter enabling Sony’s Tempest 3D audio for supported games. I've connected it to my PC with the USB dongle, downloaded the latest version of iCUE and went two times true the SoundID Personalization, I turned the surround sound on and I must say, right now I'm not impressed at all. Unlike the HS80 which has incredible tone for a wireless gaming headset, the HS55 and HS65 sound thin. If our Corsair HS65 Wireless review has you considering other options, here are two more to consider.
