Description

The IK Multimedia iRig HD 2 is compatible with both Lightning and USB devices, so you can use it with iPads, smartphones, PC, and Macs. When we say, “a higher level,” we mean you simply won’t find better with this many features and this much value. mm stereo jack (one to connect Laptop with backing track to drum module, other one to connect iRig to drum module). In 2010, for the first time ever, the original iRig allowed guitar and bass players to plug into their iPhone and use their mobile device to play, practice and record with apps like IK's AmpliTube, Apple’s GarageBand and thousands more. On further investigation, this issue seems to have been ironed out with the most recent iOS version at the time of going to press (10.

The booklets are the instruction manual and an IK Multimedia product catalog, while the sheet of paper tells you what URL to go to to register your product, and also has your unique serial number printed on it. And while the original iRig provided superior sound, it was limited in that you were unable to customize the input gain level to your particular setup.

Just do yourself a favor and make sure you’re listening through a decent set of headphones or speakers, so you can fully appreciate this quality (for monitors, IK Multimedia’s own iLoud Micro Monitors would be a solid choice). The other jack socket (with a little amp icon) has a lead which takes the signal into my guitar amplifier. It includes a 1/4" Amp Out jack which allows you to send your signal directly to your guitar amp, floor tuner, or rig setup without the need for special conversion adapters. We advise you to update to a currently supported browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) to improve your security, speed, and overall experience.

Aside from a handy metronome for those fun scale exercises, we love the Loop Drummer, which plays some high-quality drum loops and fills that you can jam along to. Once everything was plugged and I was playing guitar (I tested headphones first, then iLoud Micro Monitors), the tone I got was shockingly good and there was no latency in the headphones or monitors. Dozens (if not hundreds) of stompboxes and guitar amp models are at your fingertips, so you can experiment and fully customize your rig to your taste. A guitar interface like the IK Multimedia iRig HD 2 is essentially an analog-to-digital converter, taking your guitar’s analog signal and converting it to digital so that you can record and manipulate it using software on your computer or smartphone. The time from unboxing the iRig HD 2 to playing was short; probably less than five minutes if I hadn't been taking my time and wading through packaging. Credit is provided by a panel of lenders with whom we have a commercial relationship (so we cannot provide independent advice). When you hook up the iRig HD 2 to your iPhone 7 via the Lightning cable, thanks to the headphones jack on the iRig itself you can keep using your headphones just like you normally would! It has 24-bit A/D converters and a 96kHz sample rate, and its super-transparent preamp ensures your guitar’s tone comes through with pristine clarity and no added noise or hiss.
