Description

The CircuitWorks ® Conductive Pen makes high conductivity silver traces on circuit boards instantly. The specially formulated silver-bearing thermoplastic polymer dries very quickly at room temperature. For applications where high conductivity is not required, the 838AR-P Carbon Conductive Pen and the 841AR-P Nickel Conductive Pen provide economical alternatives. For best results hold pen at angle, depress pen tip against surface, and draw pen across surface while gently squeezing middle.

The highly conductive 841AR has been designed for apply to the interior of your plastic electronic enclosures helping devices pass FCC emission testing. This is the Circuit Scribe Conductive Ink Pen, a simple looking ball-point pen that allows you to draw circuits instead of soldering or wiring them to a breadboard. If the handwriting is non-conductive, it is mainly because the user has not used it properly or the brush stroke has not reached the path conditions. If shaking the pen does not free the mixing bearing (you cannot hear it moving within the pen barrel) or the ink still refuses to flow when the pen tip is retracted, then the clogging within the tip assembly is more serious and will require a more rigorous cleaning to re-establish proper operation. We're planning on releasing our ink in different forms for consumers - markers, bottles - in the far future.

Alternatively you can choose the free collection option and have your own courier collect it from us. The valve tip opens when pressed against a surface, and the flow is controlled by squeezing the barrel. Soldering to the ink is possible - but tricky - and greatly depends on paper/surface type and solder type. The pen contains a fast drying, silver filled ink designed to quickly make highly conductive silver traces. The easy to use solvent based, acrylic lacquer is pigmented with nickel flake and does not need heat to cure. The valved pen tip allows smooth flow with normal writing pressure and is spring loaded to prevent clogging. Once you have established movement of the mixing bearing, continue to shake the pen for another minute or so to completely re-suspend the silver particles within the polymer matrix, which will produce a smooth, homogenous product. The grey super shield 841AR from MG Chemicals is a nickel conductive paint that protects your electronic devises from EMI and RFIs issues.

You may need to clear the tip of dried ink with a wipe saturated with solvent like isopropyl alcohol (IPA). We can imagine the lines painted with conductive ink as liquid wires, and we can draw vivid circuit patterns with our own ideas. The lifetime of the trace lines is still being determined; however, trace lines drawn three years ago still function according to Eletroniks Incorporated. It is also great for making small connections in or between circuits such as jumpers, through-holes, bridges, and links.

Remove the cap and with the pen tip pointing up, grip the white base of the tip assembly gently but firmly and turn it to the right (clockwise-because the tip assembly is “reverse-threaded”). The indicator for the ink level is a white ball that starts just before the first "e" in electroninks. The absence of symbols or risk and safety phrases should not be taken to indicate that the product is non-hazardous, particularly since new data and legislation requirements are always under review.
