Pay in 3 is a form of credit, may not be suitable for everyone and use may affect your credit score. Not bothered about that – we have a TV in the bedroom that hasn’t been switched on in about 5 years and I only ever switch the TV on in the kitchen when there is football/rugby/F1/athletics/netball on (and I just use a Firestick for those occasions). There’s also news and video from the BBC News and Sports apps, movies on demand from Netflix, Wuaki. We record and watch stuff on the free channels and the rest we watch on streaming services such as Netflix. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

I thought that the Freesat app was supposed to be able to stream recordings from the main box - not sure if it can? The HB-1100S offers exciting multimedia and home networking capabilities when connected to the internet via the Ethernet, making it the heart of any home. Do you have an existing satellite dish at your home, and you're looking to use it to get the best subscription-free TV? If the remote is infrared there are many universal remotes available, just make sure it is a 'learning' type so all functions can be mapped.Maybe you’ve been using Freesat for years, maybe you’re new to Freesat and are wondering which set top box to get - either way, are you thinking it’s time to upgrade your TV set-up? No problem – simply record the programmes you’ve been looking forward to and they’ll be there waiting for you when you’re ready. Deliveries are either by Courier (Fedex or Parcelforce - Tracked), Royal Mail 1st Class for small items, or by us for local deliveries. It’s an extremely compact set-top box with a square-ish profile and an interesting film strip effect on the front. Setting it up is as simple as plugging it into a power source and connecting the HDMI output – or the bundled analogue AV kit for older TVs – then running through a quick configuration process.

I assumed because any gadgets or the TV connect to the wi-fi no problem, the Freesat box should do it just as easily. However, since this box is no longer supported or manufactured – it will gradually lose functionality. While the selection of Freesat boxes out there isn’t very big – there are still distinct differences between the ones that are available – both in features and cost. Some Samsung, LG and Panasonic TVs support Freesat directly, and all you need to do is plug in the coaxial cable coming through the wall; check the manual and look for the distinctive satellite input socket (it sticks out and has a screw thread running around it) to see if this might be the case with yours.Whether it’s sports, live events, news or showcase dramas, we still find ourselves watching traditional TV, even when there are catch-up services available. To get it, you need an aerial – either one on your roof, or a cheap indoor aerial – and a Freeview tuner – either one built-into your TV, or a set-top box one which also offers recording capabilities. On demand players are broadband speed dependent [and 4K/UHD streaming requiires faster broadband connection speeds - see service providers' recommendations for details. Our clever little set top boxes can translate the signals received by your dish and send them to your TV, so you can sit back and watch your favourite programme.

Software upgrades have made it even easier to scan through the EPG and set up recordings, complete with series link to record the whole series. If you don’t need recording capabilities, this ‘official’ 4K box from Freesat is your next best choice. The UK is probably one of the best countries in the world for TV cord cutters – with Freesat, Freeview and YouView, it’s easier than ever to watch plenty of free channels, without any subscriptions. Weirdly, there’s still no Channel 4 app or HD catch-up service, but at least you can now watch The Great British Bake-Off, Taskmaster or The Great in glorious HD without switching to a streaming stick. The number of hours you can record depends on the model you get: 500GB (Up to 250 hours), 1TB (Up to 500 hours) or 2TB (Up to 1,000 hours!Recordings are arranged by programme, just like a TV box set, so making your selection of what to watch even easier.
