Cole is also the founder and CEO of bespoke motorcycle manufacturer Gladstone Motorcycles, named after his great uncle Dick "Red Beard" Gladstone. Unspoken is a book that kids will find different meanings and questions about as they get older, and is a picture book that you’d want to keep on your shelves long after the children have left home. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Confederate soldiers arrive on horseback and a farmer’s daughter’s lingering gaze betrays her intuition of their visit.

This book reminds millions of motorcyclists why their bike gives them the freedom to be exactly who they want to be: to say 'Fuck you, fuck the world, I'm doing my thing. Since then, Henry's life can be charted through the bikes and journeys he has been on - from a stifling public-school education, via many years battling addiction, to the big-sky iconic routes Henry has ridden for over twenty series as presenter of numerous TV shows. This book reminds millions of motorcyclists why their bike gives them the freedom to be exactly who they want to be: to say 'I'm doing my thing. What fascinated me was working out the expressions of the girl’s family: Did they know what the girl was doing? When author David Wittlinger decided to get an old motorcycle to fix up he didn't have any particular model in mind. Celebrated author and illustrator Henry Cole uses stunningly detailed black-and-white artwork to illuminate a tale of friendship between an adventurous mouse and a boy who would become one of America's greatest presidents. In a ruminative afterword, Cole reflects on his Virginia family’s own connections to the war and, though silent about the signal quilt he hangs on the farmyard’s fence in the illustrations, explains the significance of the Big Dipper visible in the nighttime sky.

Good old Henry) this is an entertaining and engaging read with the occasional philosophical reflection. He started as a news cameraman for channels including ITV and TF1 and progressed to making rockumentaries, primarily with heavy rock bands, [4] then directing TV commercials, and finally directing films, such as the semi-autobiographical Mad Dogs and Englishmen with Elizabeth Hurley. Henry Cole has written and illustrated more than 150 books for children, including Spot, the Cat; And Tango Makes Three; Oink?

It would have been very easy to focus the whole book on his success with his programmes, but to share personal struggles was a real eye opener.

A Biker’s Life is the dramatic, humorous and candid memoir of Britain's busiest motorcycle show presenter. To think that Henry’s really been through the mixer and come out the other side gives everybody hope and he comes across as a genuinely spot on fella. He does contradict himself quite a lot,the second line in chapter one lines says how much he hates cars and dislikes driving them while the rest of the book tells of cars he's owned, and often loved, complete with pictures. Children's books, hackney cabs, public lavatories, choral singing, cookery, sewage disposal, to name a few subjects, all came under his critical gaze.
