Usually, this is the section of the review where I (regretfully) crush your tent-owning dreams by telling you that the awesome tent that you are so interested in will cost more than you can afford. But what a glorious day it is! I don’t have to do that this time. One of the best features of the NEMO Dagger 3 are the two very large vestibules. Having enough space to keep everyone’s wet things safe but outside of the tent can often be a challenge, but not when you have this tent! We’re also impressed by the brand’s commitment to sustainability: this tent is constructed using their Sentinel Eco Dura Fabric, which is made from recycled single-use plastic – they estimate it took 207 bottles to make the tent. Dome Tents: Dome tents are popular for their stability and versatility. These tents offer ample headroom and are ideal for various outdoor activities, from camping in the woods to attending festivals.

We consider how easy it is to get into and out of the main entrances and sleeping compartments, how bright and roomy the living spaces are, and if we consider there to be enough room for the number of people intended to sleep in the tent. If you want to keep the Trailmade 1 truly waterproof, it’s critical to get the footprint, or at the very least a heavy-duty tarp. The floor is made out of relatively durable material, but it won’t hold up on its own to a torrential downpour. Pop up tents - These pop up in no time, so you can start having fun as soon as you arrive. Take a look at our pop-up tents buyers guide. No matter how good of a waterproof camping tent you have, time will inevitably take its toll. The waterproof coating will begin to wear off as the camping tent is bumped, you move around inside the tent, and from time in storage. They claim to provide an easy way for you to plan where you're going to place your tent without having to pitch it fully, and provide an extra layer of waterproofing and insulation from the ground below.A good rule of thumb is to go for a tent that's claimed to sleep one more person than you need. If you're a family of four, for example, we'd recommend going for a five-person tent. Once you've made your mind up, tents can be reserved online to collect in-store or bought online for home delivery. How many people will be sleeping in it? A 2 man tent may be the first choice for a couple, but it's a good idea to opt for a 4 man tent for some extra space. This is a great tent for couples who want a budget-friendly 2 person waterproof tent. The pole design allows for more headroom than many 2 person tents, and there are 2 doors so you don’t have to crawl over each other to get out.

This type of tent works great paired with other tents, smaller or bigger, all placed around a Campfire for a cozy setting. Building a Crawlspace Tent Sea to Summit calls it a three-season tent, and we'd have to agree as the tent has a ton of ventilation but can also stay warm with the rainfly, especially on sunnier days, thanks to its dark color. The Telos series was launched in March 2021 and was Sea to Summit's first tent line. The goal? Boosting space while minimizing weight. To do this, Sea to Summit created a proprietary pole system that angles up instead of the typical down-curved poles. Our testers appreciated the high and roomy ceiling and the amount of freestanding space that comes without staking. The fabric is hard-wearing and waterproof. We appreciated the webbing guide straps, which make it extremely stable even in high winds, as well as the high levels of adjustable ventilation. It is also bug-proof, and the rain cover over one of the two side doors will help keep the worst of the British weather off the groundsheet. As mentioned, I consider the HD2+ to be generally tougher than other tent fabrics I have used. Namely, the rainfly just feels like it could endure more than say the MSR Hubba Hubba rainfly. The floor of the tent body is made from 70-denier taffeta nylon and the rainfly fabric is 40-denier nylon. To pitch, you simply pull on two chords that clip and bend the poles into position. With the flysheet, bedroom and groundsheet already fitted, you’re ready to go in 30 seconds, if that. Once pitched, you can move it into position and peg out.Headroom: Can you stand up in the tent? How steep are the walls? The steeper the better, since that gives you more space to move around. The solid structure of the tent provides good protection from the wind and keeps the tent stable if there’s some wind. We also love the rainfly design, which does a good job in never touching the sides of the tent so the interior stays totally dry. Of course, with a minimalist design came a few headaches. For one, our testers reported that the 48 inches suggested for the trekking poles seemed too high to pitch the tent. "While the footprint was surprisingly spacious, the pup-tent ceiling peaks across the middle lengthwise, against the orientation of a sleeping body, which creates a lot of wasted interior space and forces sleepers to put their heads into a low downslope regardless of orientation," one tester added. "In other words, there is no way to sleep in this in a way that provides any headroom."
