Description

Bumpy Dog, a dog from the original books who lives with Tessie Bear, but he also accompanies Noddy on many adventures. Noddy first met the Bumpy Dog in Toytown because he was injured and Noddy used his scarf to help him. Noddy felt he was unable to have Bumpy Dog live with him, so Tessie Bear offered to keep him. Noddy and Master Tubby Bear want to compete in the flower contest against Tessie Bear and Dinah Doll. They forget to seed their flower, so they take a gigantic one from the town square. Gaylord Gumball (voiced by Frank Meschkuleit) is a wise gumball machine, who's handles and slot resemble a moustache and mouth. Inspector Javert: Some episodes have Mr Plod bothering Noddy after circumstances lead him to believe he is up to mischief.

The Sandman (played by Colin Fox) appears in "The Sandman Cometh". He casts a spell that puts everyone in the shop to sleep. When everyone else in Toytown is too busy to play with him, Dinah Doll teaches Noddy a game he can play on his own. To a lesser degree in Make Way For Noddy as well, where he's only semi-recurrent compared to the other regular characters, and is one of few that doesn't get A Day in the Limelight. And I Must Scream: Some of their spells, while Played for Laughs, reek unnervingly of this trope. In "Noddy and the Noisy Drum" they curse Martha to march and drum non-stop to annoy the rest of the Toy Town, "The Magic Powder" where a powder they distribute forces toys to unwillingly dance when music plays, or "The Goblins' Stopwatch" where the title device straight up freezes everyone on the spot. A more Played for Drama variant occurs in "Noddy and the Singing Bush" where their "runaway spell" forces everyone to be horrid to Noddy and walk away from him (it's solved when Sly accidentally puts it in reverse and makes everyone driven to be nice to Noddy, even them). Jim Calder as Lurk Goblin, the father in a family of goblins who live in a small doll's house and create much of the drama in the series. He mainly talks gibberish, with a few recognisable words.

Sly and Gobbo give Noddy magic sound cups so he'll sing like a bird. Bumpy Dog takes them, causing trouble in Toytown. Character Development: In the original books, he was very naive and unfamiliar with life. As seen in the 1952 book "Noddy Goes to School" , he isn't able to understand reading and handwriting despite owning a car. In his book debut, Noddy isn't familiar with building a house and wanted the roof to be put up first. ◊ As a result, Big Ears had to teach him how to build his own house properly. As the books progressed, Noddy starts becoming more intelligent and familiar with life. This was kept in the 1975-1976 stop-motion series due to being a direct adaptation of the original books but left out in all media starring him. Noddy lies about eating a whole box of Googleberries while looking after Dinah Doll's stall. He convinces the entire town that a monster has eaten them all. Played by: Roger Bingham ( Noddy Live 1994)The Toytown Police officer who would sometimes think Noddy did something wrong. The stories in The Noddy Shop mainly centered on three children, Noah's grandchildren, Kate and Truman, and a friend of Kate's named Daniel Johnson, shortened to D.J., who came to play at the shop, and were collected by their (unseen) parents at the end of the day, implying the episodes were set after school, during school holidays or weekends. She's also the focus of "Noddy and the Funny Pictures", "Bicycle Battle" and "Martha Monkey's Banana Pie" in Make Way For Noddy. Catchphrase: "I hate it when that happens" in Make Way For Noddy when ever he starts wobbling mostly when it's not intended. Noah says that rudeness is like a spell of bad magic. Given the chance, Warlow reads a spell from the Goblins' book. It sends all the toys in the Noddy Shop on a tear of bad moods. Big Ears: (unamused) "You didn't! That's a silly song, now I'll go buy the tent. We can make two nice holes in the sand for beds, and another hole to keep out things in, and the tent will give us a fine roof." Deadpan Snarker: In the original books and older animations up till Toyland Adventures, Noddy was prone to making sarcastic comments when he gets very annoyed and upset. Especially around Master Tubby, Martha Monkey, and Bert Monkey.
