Description

Years ago, when I lived in Sheep Country, I belonged, thanks to Husband Number Two, to the Austin Healey Club. Through that group I made many friends, including Tarn and Fit, with whom I still keep in touch, mainly through Christmas Cards and occasionally with visits. Mrs. Cake volunteers at all temples that she can find, taking over miscellaneous housekeeping duties and performing them efficiently. Unfortunately, sooner or later she invariably falls out with the priests (because she converses with the dead) and ends up leaving the temples in a mess because now nobody else knows how to fulfill the duties she has relinquished. Mrs. Cake is dreaded by all priests and priestesses across the continents, as far as the Lost Jewelled Temple of Offler, in Klatch (see Reaper Man), and maybe farther. It is possible that Mrs. Cake can be considered a witch. Besides conversing with the dead, Mrs. Cake also has the ability to turn on or turn off her precognition, a very useful tool while walking the dangerous streets of Ankh-Morpork, but premonitions also make her conversation with normal people very confusing, because she tends to reply to a question right before it has been asked. Yet, if she has replied and then the person decides not to ask the question, she gets a terrible headache.

In No Second Prances, Pinkie Pie attempts to set up a friendship between Mrs. Cake and Starlight Glimmer, but fails after Starlight magically makes a cake drop on her head. Mr. and Mrs Cake also appear with their foals in A Hearth's Warming Tail during Twilight's castle party. In the special My Little Pony Best Gift Ever, both Mr. and Mrs. Cake are briefly seen during the song One More Day; first Mr. Cake, putting a pie on a window sill, then Mrs. Cake, pushing Pound and Pumpkin in a carriage. The Cakes wait in line to buy some of the Apple family's famous apple cider during the first day of cider season in The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000. In My Little Pony Micro-Series, Mrs. Cake appears alone on the Issue #5 Source-exclusive cover watching Pinkie and Ponyacci.place margarine, sugar, fruit, peel, water, bi-carb and mixed spice into a saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer for one minute. Allow to cool. The co-owner of Ponyville’s bakery and confectionery, Sugarcube Corner, Mrs. Cake is married to Mr. Carrot Cake. In Twilight's Kingdom - Part 2, the Cakes appear along with various other ponies to witness the newly formed Castle of Friendship. In The Ending of the End - Part 1, Mrs. Cake briefly appears being snubbed by a unicorn baker (who had been fooled by Queen Chrysalis's lies about earth ponies hoarding crops) outside Canterlot. Later, Pinkie mentions that the baker threw dessert at Mrs. Cake in the castle kitchen. In The Ending of the End - Part 2, both Mr. and Mrs. Cake appear taking shelter with their babies and other Earth ponies as Ponyville closes itself off from the other pony races. Both Mr. Cake and Mrs. Cake are characters in Gameloft's mobile game, and Mrs. Cake serves as a boss during " The Crowning Achievement" and "The Pinkie Parents Problem" events. Chiffon Swirl is also a character in the game, and serves as a boss battle helper in the latter event, in which Mr. Cake acts as an enemy minion. In Hearts and Hooves Day, Mrs. Cake uncomfortably watches Big McIntosh and Cheerilee share a milkshake at Sugarcube Corner. She tells the Cutie Mark Crusaders that she's "all for romance, but this has been going on for hours." In It Ain't Easy Being Breezies, the couple ask Fluttershy about the Breezies, and she tells them what they do, and why and how they travel through Ponyville. And when Moist hires a very experienced golem, Anghammarad, to be a postman, the golem recalls delivering messages in a past age: In MMMystery on the Friendship Express, Pinkie and her friends deliver the Cakes' "Marzipan Mascarpone Meringue Madness" creation to the National Dessert Competition in Canterlot. Mr. Cake says that the cake took months of planning and testing.
