For over a century, Penhaligons has been crafting some of the most alluring fragrances that have captivated millions around the world. Despite being a highly sought-after brand, Penhaligons hasnt lost it’s touch with the masses. In fact, the brand has a stellar reputation among many prominent figures in the entertainment and fashion world. For instance, Englands royal family features high on the list of Penhaligons loyalists. The fact that they’ve held two royal warrants from the Prince of Wales and the Queen since 1956 and 1988, respectively, showcases the brand’s impeccable quality and class. There is no doubt that Blasted Heath is a masculine fragrance. The scent pyramid consists of salty seaweed, well-aged whiskey, spicy sage, green patchouli, cedar and gaiac wood. Being an aquatic, this fragrance won't appeal to everyone, but in its genre it is what I would consider very pleasant. Glass thought it would be appropriate to seek out an alternative text (we are aware of the Macbeth reference) that contains the name of one of this pair Blasted Heath – The Botanic Garden. Part II. Containing The Loves of the Plants which was written by the poet, physican, philosopher and, of course, botanist Erasmus Darwin, a polymath indeed – and also the grandfather of Charles – which is a reminder of the botanical traditions of the British Isles. A subtle, sweet treat from Penhaligon’s, Equinox Bloom plays on series of favorite traditions and pleasing transitions – day to night, Winter to Spring - offering up a delicious and distinctive blend of gourmand and floral infusions to truly delight the senses. There's a bitter citrus note that is not listed too, which makes the scent mandarin-like fresh, but that is really not prominent.

Price: Penhaligon’s fragrances are known for their luxury and quality, which is reflected in their higher price point.I came across Blasted Bloom before it's launch in London. It was autumn and the weather was really nice and cool. I asked when is Penhaligon ever going to release an aquatic scent and the representative serving me said that they were going to release one soon, but unfortunately, it's not for sale yet. However, he let me sample it from their sample vials.

There are so many recently/soon-to launch fragrances in my stash at the mo that I’m really excited about, so I thought I’d share one every day this week and make it my unofficial Fragrance Week! Penhaligon’s recently launched two fragrances, Blasted Bloom and Blasted Heath, which are both inspired by where the sea meets the shore. I’ll be posting about Blasted Heath later this week, but for now, let’s have a closer look at Blasted Bloom. Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris: With notes of strawberry, jasmine, and patchouli, this fragrance has a sweet and floral character that could offer a different take on the floral experience. The brand continues to captivate celebrities and fashion icons around the world, and that’s a testament to the quality and class that the brand brings to the table. Englands royal family, Manola Blahnik, Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman, and Madonna, among many others, are some of the high-profile figures who’ve fallen head over heels in love with Penhaligons fragrances, and who can blame them? Conclusion Both perfumes are aquatics with the salty seawater freshness of Blasted Heath – intended for men but women also have been wearing it – underpinned by tobacco and vetiver undertones, while Blasted Bloom (for women) is a unique combination of crisp leave-y brightness with a seductive musky warmth. These are unique and complex fragrances whose appeal grows the more they are worn. Dancing playfully alongside the brown sugar; orange blossom, frangipani and jasmine provide a creamy white floral touch. Equinox Bloom is a fragrance I would recommend to young women wanting to venture away from gourmands and explore the white floral territory. Equinox Bloom is a brilliantly composed white floral without being an assault on the nose. Much of Penhaligon's line is very 'prim and proper'. Equinox Bloom steers away from the usual conservative soliflores this house is known for and experiments with a heavy dose of brown sugar. This fragrance smells like white vanilla frosting on my skin. I find its sweetness oddly appealing and somewhat refreshing.
