Description

Corrosion resistance: Stainless steel is more corrosion-resistant than galvanised steel. This means that stainless steel is less likely to rust or corrode when exposed to moisture, which can be important in damp or humid environments. This is the reason why stainless costs more to produce, and as a result the final price is higher/ Our "European Galvanized Mesh" has a pre-galvanized finish (pre-galvanized means that the wire has been hot dipped galvanized before welding) and has been manufactured in accordance with European Standard EN 10223-4 which makes it a high-quality choice. We also offer a "Galvanized Mesh" finish which has been hot dipped galvanized after welding. Both options offer excellent rust resistance when used outside. The European option has a slightly shinier / smoother finish. The stainless steel rodent mesh option has a 1mm hole and a 0.4mm wire. The wire per inch content is high in relation to the opening, so the mesh forms a very tough grid when used over small spaces especially. Furthermore the mesh has a good open area % so the flow of air through vents will not be impacted. Our rodent mesh range includes options in copper, stainless steel& galvanised. We have it by the full width, smaller width rolls and by the cut sheet. The grade of stainless steel that we use for these rolls is standard grade 304 stainless steel. This is the industry standard grade of stainless steel that is used in the woven mesh industry. It is long lasting and, equally importantly, it provides very good corrosion resistance.

Cost: As mentioned above, galvanised steel is typically less expensive than stainless steel. This can make it a more cost-effective option for those who need to cover a large area with rat mesh. We continue to extend our range, and now proudly offer many forms of mesh and metal products for the best possible prices. We specialise in woven wire mesh. As a group we work closely with architects and designers to develop ground-breaking new applications for our multifunctional range of materials. We also offer state of the art fabrication and engineering for projects of all sizes. Welding – Possible. If the galvanised metal is properly prepared, they can be welded in the same way as uncoated steelStandard insect mesh (aka fly mesh or flymesh) has a hole size of 1.36 mm x 1.36 mm. This is small enough to stop the vast majority of unwanted insects, including flies, mosquitoes, wasps and bees. Insect mesh is available to buy in our online shop insect mesh category. Soffit Vent Mesh square mesh provides an effective barrier to rats, but is also ideal to prevent mice as they cannot fit through a hole that small.

Bending & Forming – Excellent. As steel wire is the core of this mesh this mesh is flexible. Steel wire is light and flexible, so the finished product is malleable Deliveries are usually madebetween 8.30am and 6.30pmMonday to Friday excluding public and bank holidays. During busy periods our couriers may deliver up to 9:00 p.m. Durability: Stainless steel is generally more durable than galvanised steel. It is more resistant to wear and tear, and it can withstand exposure to extreme temperatures and other environmental factors better than galvanised steel. Stainless steel is the gold-standard material for wire mesh, consequently it is the best selling range. If you want your mesh to last a lifetime than stainless steel is the metal for you. Stainless steel wire meshis a harder material than mild steel and galvanised steel, so this is sometimes a preferred option for rat and mesh protection in office and factory environmentsWe have options that you may also be interested in the ‘Rodent Mesh’ section of our store. In addition, we offer an enormous range of insect screening options.

Carry out research into the area in question. These points of ingress can be on higher levels as much as they’re likely to be on the ground floor. Always try to eliminate previous infestations before using a rodent deterrent. Otherwise existing problems will simply be moved to a different point of the location in question. Below, we have outlined the properties of some commonly employed meshes. These include mesh to prevent the passage of rodents (both rats and mice), insects (including specifically midges) and for use in beekeeping applications. Of note, much of the information below has been advised to us by the British Pest Control Association (BPCA). Rodent Mesh (rats and mice) Our group have been in the mesh industry for over 150 years.
